Rick Sweet played one season of basketball and baseball for the Red Devils in 1971-72.  He took his infield and catching skills to Gonzaga University where he played three seasons of baseball. Sweet was then drafted by the San Diego Padres and made it to the big leagues. He later was picked up by the Seattle Mariners.  Sweet made his mark in baseball as a long-time manager at the AAA level. He also spent a season as a first base coach for the Houston Astros.  Sweet also coached for LCC during the off-season as a young minor league player.  Sweet won several championships as a professional manager.
