A Kelso High graduate, Meyer played and coached volleyball and basketball at LCC, serving as team captain in both sports during her two-year playing career at the college.

She was named team MVP as a freshman in basketball when she averaged 16.5 points per game. She was also named ‘Most Inspirational’ as a sophomore.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University, Meyer returned to LCC where she served as head volleyball coach and assistant women’s basketball coach for two seasons. In volleyball, she compiled a 49-21 record which included a league title and third-place finish in the NWAACC Championships in 1981.

Meyer achieved her master’s degree from Lewis and Clark College. She later continued a career as a coach and athletic director at Vancouver’s Mountain View and Heritage high schools. She coached volleyball, basketball, softball, track and golf while at Mountain View, receiving numerous Coach of the Year honors. As an administrator, she was a member of the WIAA Executive Board and was a leader in planning and direction for the Greater St. Helens League.
