Red Devil Hall of Fame
The Castle Rock star came to LCC and was a starter on the 1996-97 LCC basketball team coached by Lisa Kihl. That Devils team went 12-2 in division play and qualified for the NWAC tournament. Kihl's 97-98 LCC team went unbeaten (14-0) in division play and ended up fifth in the NWAC. Johnston was named the West Region MVP and Scholar Athlete. In softball, Johnston helped the 1997 Tim Mackin-led Devils to a third place finish in the NWAC. The 1998 season was another solid one for Johnston as the Devils won 33 games and took 4th in the NWAC. Jaime was named to the NWAC Southwest Region first team. Jaime currently is a teacher in the Kelso School District Special Education program and coaches her daughter's Hilander Hoop Club basketball team. She also is an assistant coach for the Cowlitz County Devils youth fastpitch team.
