The high-flying lefty from W.F. West in Chehalis was a prolific scorer over his two seasons of Red Devils basketball in 1999 and 2000. Playing for Coach Jim Roffler, Thompson scored 727 points his sophomore year – averaging 26.0 points per game at a 56-percent shooting clip. That’s the highest one-year scoring total in school history. Over his career Thompson scored 1,260 points (22.1 ppg), second all-time at LCC behind Mike Block (22.83).

His outstanding work on the basketball court continued at Central Washington University in 2001-2002, where Thompson was a two-year starter and averaged 19.7 ppg. The 2000-01 Wildcats are the last CWU team to win a NCAA Division II postseason game. Justin was a first team All-GNAC player and a Greater Northwest First Team All-America nominee. Thompson was named to the Central Washington 2000-2009 All-Decade Team.

Two seasons of professional basketball abroad followed, including playing on traveling all-star team through the summer of 2002 in Germany and Austria. Thompson signed with ESSM Le Portel France to play basketball from 2002 -2003 and helped lead the team to a national title.

Thompson spent nine years as a school teacher before becoming a Laboratory Technician.  He is married to Lyndsay Thompson and the couple have two children Braylyn (8) and Jameson (7).  The family lives in Surprise, Arizona.
