TACOMA, WA — The Lower Columbia College women's soccer team faced its toughest conference challenge to date on Saturday, September 20, falling 5-1 on the road to the undefeated Tacoma Titans.
The Red Devils struggled to contain a potent Tacoma offense in the first half. The Titans scored just 35 seconds into the match and added three more goals before halftime, sending Lower Columbia into the break facing a 4-0 deficit.
Despite the difficult start, LCC showed resilience to open the second half. Forward Maylee Reynolds provided a spark for the Red Devils, scoring an unassisted goal just over a minute into the period at the 46:07 mark. The goal was a highlight for the LCC offense, which managed seven shots with six on goal throughout the contest.
The Red Devils' goalkeepers were busy all afternoon, facing 18 total shots from Tacoma. Cassandra Cleland started the match and made three saves in the first half. Haley Loll took over in the second half, also recording three saves while allowing one goal.
The loss moves Lower Columbia's West Region record to 2-1-1 and their overall record to 3-3-2.
The team will look to bounce back next Saturday, September 27, vs the Highline Thunderbirds at Starfire Fields in Tukwilla, WA.
