(Longview, WA) -- It was a good result.
The Lower Columbia women's soccer team rallied from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with a fine Tacoma team on Saturday October 18th.
The Titans came into the match with a 9-0-1 West Region record. It looked like maybe they would roll when they scored two goals in the first 30 minutes.
But the Devils didn't quit and trimmed the lead in half when Anabelle Rogers hit a looping bomb from distance at 35'.
Down 2-1 at the half, Lower Columbia got the equalizer at the 81st minute, a
Maylee Reynolds goal off a
Sam Roundtree assist.
The Devils defense tightened up after the two early Tacoma goals and it led to a solid draw, keeping LCC in playoff contention.
Lower Columbia is 3-4-4 in the West, 4-6-5 overall. Tacoma is 9-0-2 and still in first place.
The Devils are just three points behind third place Centralia. LCC will host second place Highline on Sophomore Day Wednesday October 22nd, 4 pm at Northlake Field.
The Devils are slated for a non-league match Monday October 20th at the Linfield JV's. Game time is 2 pm.
