Devils Sound The Horn In A Tight Win Over TCC

(Longview, WA) – Kaden Horn was the hero as the Lower Columbia guard hit the game winner and led the team in scoring in a 78-76 win over Tacoma on Wednesday February 7th.

Horn hit a spinning teardrop with six seconds left and the Devils got the stop at the end when Tacoma's hurried three was off the mark at the buzzer.  It was Lower Columbia's 14th straight victory over TCC and LCC head coach Mickey Polis saw his record against the Titans also go to 14-0.

It was not easy as the Tacoma team pressured the #1 ranked Red Devils into many uncomfortable possessions.

Carter McCoy was also huge for the Devils.   His old fashioned three-point play with just over a minute left gave LCC a 76-75 lead.  After a TCC free throw tied the game, it set the stage for Horn's big shot on McCoy's assist.

It was a special K night.  Kaden had the game winner. Kobe Parlin had 14 points. And Keshawn Lewis was clutch with 14 points. With the Devils down by four with 12 minutes left, Lewis hit a massive step-back three to get LCC within one.  The Myklebust Gym crowd erupted when Lewis hit another three at the five minute mark to give LCC a four point lead.

Malik Brown, playing with a heavy heart and two sore ankles had nine points, nine rebounds and five assists.  A moment of silence was held prior to the game to remember Brown's Tigard High School coach Shawn Alderman was tragically passed away earlier in the week at the young age of 52.

His teammates had his back.  David Young had another outstanding defensive game and contributed seven points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.  Jonah Zeller offered great rim protection with four blocks, six points and four boards.

Tacoma big man Chae Haynes led TCC with a game-high 23 points.

TCC gave LCC all they could handle in the two meetings this year, but the Devils now get ready for Grays Harbor Saturday February 10th, a 5 pm start at Myklebust Gym.  Lower Columbia is now 8-0 in the West and 20-2 overall after its 11th straight victory.
