PASCO, WA — The Lower Columbia Red Devils are moving on to the NWAC Championships Final Four after a 96-74 victory over Treasure Valley on March 5, 2026, at Columbia Basin College.
The game opened with both teams finding their footing, and Treasure Valley managed to take a narrow one-point lead at the 14:00 mark of the first half. However, Lower Columbia quickly regained control and built a steady advantage, heading into the locker room at halftime with a 42-34 lead.
In the second half, the Red Devils' offense found another gear. Lower Columbia poured in 54 points during the final period to put the game out of reach. The team extended their lead to as many as 24 points with just over six minutes remaining in the contest, effectively sealing the win.
Lower Columbia's shooting efficiency was a key factor in the victory. The Red Devils shot an impressive 62.1 percent from the field and connected on 60.0 percent of their three-point attempts. They also controlled the glass, pulling down 45 total rebounds compared to Treasure Valley's 34. Lower Columbia found success inside as well, scoring 46 points in the paint. Treasure Valley struggled to keep pace offensively, finishing the game shooting 37.7 percent overall and just 17.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Several Red Devils turned in exceptional individual performances to pace the offense. Shane Douma-Sanchez led all scorers with 24 points, adding nine rebounds and three assists.
Skyler Schmidt was highly efficient, scoring 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the field, while also contributing eight rebounds and five assists.
Kenyan Jackman-Thomas secured 16 points and eight rebounds, and James Grose added 13 points, which included shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range.
Treasure Valley was led by Jeremiah Williams, who tallied 15 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Mason Venema also scored 15 points off the bench, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor. Alain Nziza and Eli Igiranez rounded out the double-digit scorers for Treasure Valley with 10 points apiece.
The victory advances Lower Columbia to the NWAC Championships Final Four round. They will now face the Bellevue Bulldogs on Friday, March 13 at 12:00 pm in Pasco, WA at Columbia Basin College.
