Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Unselfish Play Leads Devils To 16 Straight Win

(Des Moines, WA) Red Devils extend their win streak to 16 with a 75-61 win over the Highline Thunderbirds.

Having not lost a game in the regular season has put a target on the backs of the Red Devils. Every team they face is hype up just a little bit more to be the one to take the Devils down. But, LCC has stood up to that pressure and continues to play unselfishly and the results speak for themselves.

The team combined for 15 assist and 36 rebounds vs the T-Birds.

Kaden Horn was back on the court after missing a few games due to injury and lead the Devils in scoring with 18, 12 of those in the first half. Horn went 4-6 from the arc, 5-9 in FG shooting and 4-4 from the free throw line.

At the half the Devils held a slim 4 point lead over the Highline, 33-29. In the second half, LCC turned it up a notched extending the lead to 10 with 9 minutes to go and then up 14 with 4 min. left. Lower Columbia was tenacious under the hoop out rebounding the T-birds 22-15 in the second half.

Kobe Parlin put up 11 of his 14 points in the second half. Parlin also had 5 assist on the night.

Malik Brown put 11 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Keshawn Lewis added 9 points and 3 rebounds.

Carter McCoy was huge under the hope with 11 rebounds, 8 points and a block.

Jonah Zeller had 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

While the Devils have already won the west region title the work is not done. They will face the Green River Gators on Wednesday, February 28, at Tacoma Community College, with a chance to go undefeated in the west on the line. Tip is set for 7:30 pm.
