(Lakewood, WA) – The top-ranked Lower Columbia men's basketball team won its 14
th straight victory Saturday February 17
th.
It was not easy.
Cameron Williams of Pierce got a good look at a potential game winning shot with one second left, but it was off the mark and the Devils survived with a 54-53 victory.
Carter McCoy's free throw with 2:26 left turned out to be the game winner. The Raiders got a dunk on the next possession to get within one. After three missed LCC shots, the Raiders had the final chance to no avail.
Kobe Parlin led Lower Columbia with 18 points. McCoy had a double-double with 11 points and 15 big rebounds.
Jonah Zeller had 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
Malik Brown struggled with 1 for 7 shooting, but he had the rest of his game going as he collected eight rebounds and four assists.
David Young was a defensive force, as usual, and he contributed nine points, three boards and a team-high four steals.

The Devils are on the brink of a third straight West Region title. They can clinch the division with a win at home against Centralia on Wednesday February 21
st. It's Sophomore Night and LCC Hall of Fame Night. Tip off is at 7:30 pm.
The Devils are now 11-0 in league and 23-2 overall.
