Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

NWAC Leading Devils Make It 13 In A Row

(Olympia, WA) It wasn't the cleanest game of the season for the Red Devils but they make the shots when it counts to get the 67-61 win the South Puget Sound Clippers and extend their streak to 13.

Lower Columbia has a target on their back has each opponent they face comes in just a little more hyped up for the opportunity to be the ones to give the Devils their first west region loss. While bending here and there the Red Devils have not broke and stand alone a top the west region standings. The Devils are also one of only two teams in the NWAC that stand unbeaten in their region, the other is Yakima Valley (10-0) in the east.

South Puget Sound came out looking to be the ones and certainly gave the Devils some headaches. The Clippers gave the Red Devils fits on the offensive boards, grabbing 14 board to the Devils 4, leading to 12 second chance points SPSCC.

Clippers cut the Devils lead to one with 3:41 to go in the first half but LCC regrouped and strong inside play by Camryn Berry and Jonah Zeller gave the Devils a 6 point lead, 30-24, at the half.

South Puget would take a 2 point lead with 8:41 to go in the second half but that would be the last time they would go up on the Devils. David Young hit a clutch three right after that to give the Devils a boost. SPSCC would get to within three with 2:54 to go but once again the Devils hit a clutch three, Kobe Parlin this time, to give the momentum back to the Red Devils. Carter McCoy then hit 3 of 4 FT to seal the 67-61 win.

Zeller had a big night putting up 17 points with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.

McCoy put up his 8th double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds

Young finished the night with 14 points and 2 blocks.

Parlin had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Berry came off the bench to put up 7 points with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.

The Devils stand alone a top the west region standings with a 3 game lead on the Green River Gators.

Next up for the Red Devils is another road game on Saturday, February 17, vs the Pierce Raiders in Lakewood, WA at 7:00 PM.
