(Longview, WA) – It was clearly an important game in the West Division standings and the intensity showed.
In the end, it was Lower Columbia that came out on top with a 66-58 victory over the Green River Gators. Instead of both teams tied for first, the Devils now have a two game lead over the Gators to end the first half of the league season.
Kobe Parlin was the star for Lower Columbia. He missed just four shots and led all scorers with 27 points. Parlin was 5 for 8 from long distance and 10 for 14 overall. He also had four assists on the night.
The Devils were up to challenge of the multiple zone defenses that Green River employed.
David Young was a key to that has he roamed the middle of the floor and scored 11 huge points. Young also played his normal solid defense and also collected eight rebounds.
Carter McCoy was solid with eight points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Malik Brown was a key to getting the ball into the hot hands as he had eight assists and five rebounds.
Jonah Zeller had five points and four boards.
Josh Jackson hit two three's for six points.
Kameron Bender had 18 to lead Green River.
LCC closes out the first round of league play with a huge win and an unblemished 7-0 record. Green River falls to 5-2 in league, but still in second place.
The red hot Red Devils will be off on Saturday before they take a 10-game winning streak into a home game with Tacoma on Wednesday February 7
