(Aberdeen, WA) – The sun final came out for the Lower Columbia softball team as they went to Aberdeen for a South Region doubleheader on Wednesday April 26
th.
There was plenty of sun and plenty of runs for LCC.
The Devils won 16-2 and 16-0.

Darby DeRuyter went the distance and got plenty of run support. Before she took the circle, the Devils put six runs on the board in the top of the first.
Maliyah Twitty drove in two with a single followed by RBI base hits from
Alli Heater and
Leanna Russell.
The Devils added three more in the third sparked by Twitty's triple. Heater drove her home with a double and
Emily Panush followed with an RBI single to make it 9-0.
Russell got her second RBI with a ground out in the 4
th.
DeRuyter ran into some trouble in the bottom of the 4
th when she walked three and gave up an two run double. Other than that hiccup, DeRuyter was in control.
The Devils blew it wide open with six runs in the 5
th.
Teeghan Reams had a two-run triple.
Destiny Dunlap followed with an RBI single. Twitty added another double.

Raychel Squibb and
Teeghan Reams each had two homers to back the complete game pitching of
Sadie Knutson.
Knutson started with two straight walks, but then settled in and held the Chokers in check the rest of the way.
Squibb and Reams went back-to-back-jack in the second inning giving LCC a 6-0 lead. Reams long ball was a three run shot.
Squibb added a two-run homer in the 4
th. Reams went deep in the 5
th, a two run homer.
Russell had two RBI's with a single and sacrifice fly.
Ella Dillon hit an RBI single in the 5
th.
With the sweep, the Devils are 19-13 overall and 12-6 in the South Region.
LCC is right back in play Thursday April 27
th as they host the Centralia Blazers in a 3 pm Doubleheader at Tam O'Shanter Park in Kelso.
