(Longview, WA) Red Devils soccer extend their win streak to four with a 4-0 shutout win vs the Centralia Trailblazers on the home pitch, Wednesday, October 18.
Centralia had hope to play spoiler to for the Red Devils but LCC came ready to play. The Devils hit their first goal 12 min. into the match when 
Nataija Blaylock hit a pass over the Trailblazers defenders to find 
Adalie Schierscher on the run. Schierscher faked out the Centraila goal keeper to hit the corner of the net. 
From their it turned into a defensive battle as both teams fought hard for control of the ball. The first half ended with the Red Devils up 1-0. 
The Devils came out strong again in the second half hitting their second goal only 5 min into the half. This time Blaylock took a pass from 
Delaney McNett and drove down the field hitting the back of the net over a diving Trailblazers goal keeper. LCC goes up 2-0 with 40 minutes to go in the match. 
Then at about the 83 min Devils forward 
Mikaella Moreira was dribbling the ball towards the goal to score and the Centralia goalie slide tackled her, after she had kick the ball, taking Moreira to the ground. The shot missed just wide but Centralia's keeper was given a red card and the Trailblazers were forced to play a man down for the rest of the match. 
Lower Columbia was able to take advantage of Centralia only having 10 players on the field.  
Maddie Kohout hit her first collegiate goal has a Red Devil off a great cross by 
Rhyli Grim. Then, 3 min. later 
Brynlee Grant hit her first goal as a Red Devil off a throw in from 
Ella Willardson. Grant moved the ball up and hit a shot just inside the right post and over the hands of the new Blazers goalie. Final score Lower Columbia 4, Centralia 0.
In all the Devils had 27 shots with 15 of those on goal to the Blazers 6 shots. Centralia keepers were credited with 11 saves.  
Devils keepers had 5 saves combined in the match, 
Taylor Wilkinson 2 and 
Jade Goulding 3. 
The win puts the Red Devils in great position to take the number one spot in the west, currently held by Pierce after Clark College's lost to Tacoma on Wednesday. 
If the Devils can win their final three matches, first place is theirs. Next up for Lower Columbia is their final home match of the season on Saturday, October 21, vs Green River at 12:00 pm. 
This will be Devils soccer sophomore day. The team will honor their 13 sophomores before the start of the match. So, make your plans to get to Northlake field early and join us in celebrating these amazing ladies.
