Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 (Longview, WA) – With eight freshmen players and five returners it would be fair to say it will take some time to get the 2022 Lower Columbia College volleyball team to mesh as a team.

But the 2022 Red Devils didn't waste anytime as they went 4-0 to sweep the five-team LCC Get Together on Saturday August 27th at Myklebust Gym.

After Friday wins over Centralia and Clackamas, the Red Devils came up with two wins Saturday downing Mt. Hood 3-1 and Umpqua 3-0.

Against Mt. Hood, Paige Chinchen led the way with 15 kills and 17 digs.  The set scores were 25-12, 25-19 23-25 and 25-18.

Katy Cooper added seven kills and 18 digs.  Alex Tinsley distributed 22 assists.

Jazzy Golly continued her transition to libero with a team-high 26 digs.

Kate Johnson had three blocks.

The Devils win over Umpqua was achieved by set victories 25-22, 25-14 and 25-20.

LCC had a .315 team kill percentage against the Riverhawks and plenty of Devils were doing damage.  Chinchen led the way with nine kills.  Kambree Baker had six, and five each from Brooke Parsons and Tinsley.

Kate Onespot-Danforth had a team-high 16 assists and Tinsley collected 13 helpers.

Golly had 19 digs followed by Chinchen with 12 and Tinsley with seven.

The Devils opened the season with four wins against solid competition.  Chinchen had 39 kills and a .344 kill percentage in her opening college event.  Two other newcomers did well as Tinsley had 75 assists in the four matches and Onespot-Danforth had 67.

Golly led the team with 72 digs in the four matches.

LCC gets back on the court Wednesday August 31st when they travel to Vancouver USA for a 6:30 pm match with the Clark Penguins.
