Cougars Take Two From The Devils

(Oregon City, OR) – The Clackamas Cougars were outstanding in all phases of the game while taking a double header sweep over LCC on Wednesday April 27th.

Clackamas held off a Red Devil rally to get a 4-3 win in the first game then scored a flurry of runs late in the nightcap to take a 12-3 victory.

In the first game, Clackamas used a leadoff walk to score a first inning run off LCC starter Jade Behic.  Clackamas added another single run in the second before the Devils got on the board.  Behic hit a sacrifice fly in the third to make it 2-1. The Cougars then came back with another run to take a 3-1 lead in the 4th.

Ada Williams hit a solo homer in the 4th to make it 3-2.  Clackamas made great plays at shortstop and right field to keep it that way.  The Cougs added a fourth run in the 4thTaylor Avram's lead off single in the 5th led to her scoring on a wild pitch to make it 4-3.  The Devils were turned away the remainder of the game.

Clackamas jumped on LC starter Rylee Peters with three runs in the first inning. Peters would right the ship and throw up some zero's allowing LCC to stay in the game.  Avram had an RBI double to make it 3-1 after two.

Emily Panush hit a sac fly to score Maddie Curaming in the 4th.  Ada Williams hit a screaming RBI double to tie the game at 3-3 in the 5th.  Again, it was good execution by the Cougars as they threw out the trail runner at the plate.

Clackamas then exploded for nine runs in the 5th inning including three homers.

LCC drops to 18-12 overall and 9-5 in the South Region.  The Devils will look to get back on track when they travel to Centralia for a DH at Fort Borst park on Friday April 29th. The first game begins at 3 pm.  LCC will then close out the road trip with two games at Mt. Hood at 12 noon Sunday May 1st.
