(Gresham, OR) – The Lower Columbia softball team took to the road for four games this past weekend and they were able to split against two quality opponents.

The weekend certainly started off with a bang. The Red Devils erupted for 19 runs on 19 hits in a game shortened to five innings.
Jade Behic threw a no-hitter and allowed just one baserunner via a walk.
While Jade was dealing, she was also hitting. Behic was 4 for 5 at the plate with three RBI's. There were plenty of LCC hitting stars as

Jada Cargo-Acosta drove in four runs LCC. She actually hit a grand slam but was called out when she passed the lead runner. It was a three run double instead.
Give the Trailblazers credit because they bounced right back, holding the Devils to just two hits in the second game. It appeared the Devils used up all the hits in the first game.
The scene shifted to Gresham on Sunday where the Devils and Saints traded punches in the first game. The Devils went up 2-0 in the top of the third, but Mt. Hood countered with five in the bottom of the frame. LCC tied it up with three in the top of the 5
th before the Saints come back with three of their own. The never-say-die Devils then tied it at 8-8 with three more in the top of the sixth. The Saints put it way with four in the bottom of the sixth.
Behic had a big game at the plate as she went 3 for 4 with four RBI's including her 18
th homer of the season. Brown had a double and triple. Behic went the distance and took the loss.
The Devils came roaring back in the weekend finale. Behic continued her torrid hitting by going 3 for 5 with a double and three RBI's. McGough hit her 16
th homer of the season.
Katie Adkins was 3 for 5 with an RBI and
Emily Panush was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Cargo-Acosta played great defense and also had two hits.
The big story of the game was the outstanding pitching of
Rylee Peters. The freshman went 5 2/3 innings allowing just two runs. She scattered seven hits and struck out four Saints. Behic closed it out with 1 1/3 innings of one hit relief.
The Devils are 20-14 on the season and 11-7 in South Region play. LCC will host the league leading Southwestern Oregon Lakers on Wednesday May 4
