POOR FINISH LEADS TO FIRST LEAGUE LOSS

(Des Moines, WA) – The final nine minutes of the Devils road game at Highline turned out to be a stretch to forget.
 
With a seven point second half lead melted away to nothing with nine minutes left, the Devils couldn't hang and lost to the T-Birds 84-70 on Saturday February 5th.
 
Highline hit 57% of its second half shots to hand LCC its first West Region loss of the season.  The Red Devils dropped to 4-1 in league, while the Thunderbirds evened their league mark at 2-2.
 
Both teams struggled to find the mark from long distance.  LCC was 4 for 23 from beyond the arc while the T-Birds were just 3 for 19.
 
LCC turned the ball over 18 times, were outrebounded 45-41 and they had just 10 assists as a team.
 
Dakota Reber led Lower Columbia with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Kyle Gruhler scored 17.
 
Ky-mani Pollard was held to just two points but he did lead LCC with seven assists.  Cole Hardy had eight points and seven rebounds.  Sherman Royal III had 11 points and six boards.
 
Five Highline players scored in double figures led by the 16 each of Jalen Fayson and Bradley Graham.
 
LCC returns home to take on South Puget Sound on Wednesday February 9th.  Game time is 7:30 pm.
