(Longview) – The South Puget Sound Clippers came into Myklebust Gymnasium on Wednesday February 9
th and almost pulled off an upset over the Lower Columbia College Red Devils.
Almost.

Solomon Campbell's tip-in with three seconds left gave the Devils the cushion they needed in a 71-69 Devil victory.
Jackie Simmons hit a three at the buzzer for South Puget Sound.
With three seconds of differential and 38 seconds left, the Clippers opted to let the Devils run the clock down.
Ky-mani Pollard's jumper was off the mark but Campbell tipped it in to preserve the win.
The Red Devils were led by the inspired play of
Sherman Royal III. The sophomore scored 21 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and made four steals.
The Clippers shot 43 percent from 3-point range to stay in the game. Justin Hicks had 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The game featured several highlight-reel plays including a
Dakota Reber dunk and a Jordanesque reverse lay-in by
Emanuel Steward. Mekhi Speller had a flying one hand dunk off a lob for SPSCC.
Pollard had 15 points for LCC. The Devils survived despite hitting just 4 for 20 from long range (20%).
The Devils go to 5-1 in the West Region, 13-4 overall. The Clippers drop to 3-14 and 1-5.
Lower Columbia will host the Grays Harbor Chokers on Saturday February 12
th. Game time at Myklebust Gym is 7 pm.
