(Longview, WA) – It took a while, but the Lower Columbia men's basketball team got things going in the second half and coasted to an 88-70 victory over the Centralia Blazers on Wednesday February 2
nd.
In front of a big LCC Hall of Fame Night crowd, the Devils and Blazers were locked up in a tight one, tied 42-42 at the half. LCC them went on a 14-0 run over a six minute stretch in the second half to take control.
Solomon Campbell had a big game with 20 points and 14 rebounds, six on the offensive glass. Campbell missed just one field goal (7-8) and was 6-9 at the line.
Emanuel Steward came off the Devil bench for 17 points. He also had four of the Devils six steals in the game.
Four of the Devils starters scored in double figures.
Kyle Gruhler had 15 points,
Dakota Reber with 13 and and
Ky-mani Pollard had 10.
LCC shot 53.3% from the floor while the Blazers were held to 28.6% shooting. The Red Devils also outrebounded the Blazers 52-35.
Colby White had 23 points to lead Centralia.
Lower Columbia is 12-3 on the season and 4-0 in the West Region.
The Devils go to Des Moines for a Saturday afternoon game with Highline on February 5
th. Game time is 2:00 pm.
