(Longview, WA) – Clark and Lower Columbia are no longer divisional foes. But it doesn't mean they are no longer rivals.
The 172
nd meeting between the two schools was a blowout.
Led by a stifling defense and a balanced offense, LCC rolled over Clark 85-44 Thursday December 1
st at Myklebust Gym.
LCC leads the longtime series 94-78 and have beaten the Penguins six straight times.
The Penguins came into the game with a 5-0 record and an attack that averaged over 88 points per game. But LCC gave up just half of that and it was over in the first half.
All 10 Red Devils that played, scored. And they didn't need their two top scorers to have big nights.
Emanuel Steward had 10 points and
Sherman Royal III had six. But they did so much more.
Ashton Harvey was relentless as he had a double-double at halftime and went on to 12 point, 15 rebound night.
The bench production was outstanding as
Jake Leitz and
Kaden Horn had 11 points each. Lower Columbia won the bench battle outscoring the Penguins reserves 42-11.
Every Devil that played scored at least five points. An they all played defense.
The Penguins could muster just 26 percent from the floor and they were 0-11 from long distance. The Devils out rebounded Clark 55-31.
Jonah Zeller had a great game as he had five points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots.
LCC is now 5-0 on the season and will head to Salem for a road game on Saturday December 3
rd. The game against the Chemeketa Storm will start at 3 pm.
