(Longview, WA) – The Red Devils played tough defense and shared the ball as they opened West Region play with a resounding 90-49 victory over the Green River Gators on Wednesday January 19
th.
LCC was confident they could win at home against a solid Green River team but nobody saw this blowout coming.
Sherman Royal III led the way with 17 points and five rebounds but this was a night when everybody got in the act.
Dakota Reber went 4 for 5 from long distance and finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Ashton Harvey was the only Red Devil that didn't score but he contributed with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Hunter Schwenke went 2 for 3 from long range and finished with a college career high of eight points.
Ky-mani Pollard had a hand in many of the Devils points as he scored seven himself and dished off a game-high seven assists.
The Devils defense held Green River to 30 percent shooting and they forced 25 turnovers. Trey Anderson led the Gators with 13 points.
After going a month without a game, LCC will host another tilt Saturday January 22
nd when they Pierce Raiders come to town. Tip off is set for 7 pm at Myklebust Gym.
