Red Devils Men's basketball battled it out vs the Pierce Raiders on Saturday, January 22, at home in a match that came down to the wire but the Devils had it when it counted to win 75-72.

The Devils seemed to be surprised by the Raiders as Pierce jump out to a quick 7 point lead in the first 3 min of Saturdays game but that would end up being the largest lead of the game by either team before the night was over. 
At the half, Pierce was on top 42-40. The second half was back and forth with the Raiders managing to stay just ahead of the Devils until Soloman Campbell hit a dunk and was fouled off a full court pass from Ky-mani Pollard. Campbell hit the free throw to tie the game up at 57 with 10 minutes to go. Pierce would tie it up again at 72 with less than 2 min to go. Pollard then drives in with the layup to give the Devils a 2 point lead. Pierce takes a time out with 17 seconds left. The Raiders had the right play coming out the TO but Pierce's, Torrey Cady, was short on his layup and LCC's Kyle Gruhler got the rebound and was fouled putting him at the FT line for a 1 and 1 with 11 seconds left. Gruhler hit the first but missed the second, Pierce rebound the ball passed it down and threw up a last second three but it bounced off the backboard as time expired. 

Kyle Gruhler was the top scorer for the Devils with 22 pts, 8 rbs, and 2 ast. Dakota Reber put up 15 pts and pulled down 8 boards.
Solomon Campbell had 12 pts and 8 rbs on the night. Sherman Royal added 8 pts, 6 rbs, and 2 ast.
Ky-mani Pollard had 4 pts, 4 ast, and 3 rbs. Emanuel Stewart contributed 6 pts, 4 rbs, and 2 ast

The Red Devils went 43% from the floor and 64% from the FT line. 

The win puts the Red Devils (10-3,2-0) in a tie for first in the NWAC west region standings with Tacoma (7-6,2-0).

Next up for LCC is a trip north to Tacoma on Wednesday, January 26, for a 7:30 tip.
