The Lower Columbia softball team shook off a bad game and came back to unleash an offensive attack in a double header split at Shoreline on Sunday March 4th.
Briana Harvill had a huge day for LCC. The sophomore second baseman went 5 for 8 with three doubles, a home run and seven RBI's in the two games.
The opener was won by Shoreline 12-3. The Dolphins erupted for five runs in the third inning off Devil starter
Christine Robbins. The Devils rallied to make it 5-3 on solo homers by Harvill and
Allyssa Gustafson. But Shoreline came back and hit two dingers to chase Robbins.
Caitlyn Grogan finished it up in the circle.
Robbins took the loss, striking out nine in 5 1/3 innings. Gustafson was 2 for 3 with the home run.Â
Sarah Potwin hit a double.
The second game went much better. Harvill went 4 for 5 with three doubles and six RBI's to lead the Red Devils to a 17-5 victory.
Cheyenne Gilberston was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI's. Gustafson also went 2 for 2.
Grogan got the win going five innings, allowing six hits and striking out six.
LCC is 5-3 on the season after splitting road twin bills at Highline and Shoreline. The Devils will return to action Friday March 9th when they take part in the NWAC Inter Regional event at the RAC Complex in Lacey.
The Devils take on Shoreline Friday at 4:30 pm followed by a 7 pm game with Pierce. Saturday the Devils play Highline at 10 am followed by a 12 noon game with Edmonds.
