A Harbor Sweep. Streak at 38.

(Aberdeen, WA) -- The Lower Columbia College softball team has won 38 straight games after taking two at Grays Harbor on Friday May 1st.

Zoey Hughes got the win and hit a three run homer in the opener.  Ava Eib struck out 10 in the nightcap and pitched another no-hitter, her third of the season.

Game One Lower Columbia 12 Grays Harbor 0

Hughes allowed a leadoff walk and a second inning single.  That was it.  She struck out eight and raised her record to 20-0 this season and 36-0 in her LCC career.

The Devils scored three in the first inning. Elysa Nash led off with a double and then traded places with Gabi Silveria, who drove her home.  Shaz Ancheta then stepped up and hit an RBI triple.

The Red Devils scored four in the 2nd inning, highlighted by a Silveria two run double and an RBI single from Hughes.

Hughes then provided the knockout blow, a three run homer to right centerfield in windy conditions.

Cerenity Fake came on and completed the task with two shutout innings of relief.

Silveria was 3 for 3 with four RBI's.  Hughes was 2 for 3 with four RBI's.

Game Two Lower Columbia 14 Grays Harbor 0

Eib punched out 12 Chokers and ran her NWAC-leading strikeout total to 223. Eib is now 20-1 on the season and her career mark is 32-1.

The Devils again jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first.  Fake delivered an RBI single and then Kendall Humphrey unloaded a two-run homer.

Jaime Haase had an RBI single in the third. The Devils also scored a run on a double steal.

Emma Langsi hit a two run double in the 4th followed by Humphrey's RBI double.

LCC blew the game wide open with five runs in the fifth featuring a pinch-hit, two run triple from Dani Ambriz and a Seyah Lindersmith RBI double.

Humphrey and Haase were both 3 for 4 in game two.

The Devils have won 38 straight and raised their South Region record to 28-0.

Lower Columbia has a big double header Tuesday at Mt. Hood at 2 pm.
