The Lower Columbia women's soccer team took care of business against a rival on Wednesday October 3rd.

At Northlake Field, the Devils defeated the Centralia Blazers 4-0 to take the season series. LCC outscored the Blazers 9-1 in the home and home.

Shelby Vermeulen continued her amazing return to soccer after a year's hiatus by scoring two goals and adding an assist. It was 11th goal for Vermeulen, tied for third best in the NWAC.

Vermuelen got the Devils on the board with a goal off a Sierra Thornock assist at 13'.

Vermeulen then was crited with an assist, setting up Kayla Willis with a goal at the 46 minute mark giving LCC a 2-0 lead at the half.

The Thornock to Vermeulen combo struck again at 48'.

Lower Columbia finished off the scoring with a Kaylee Murray goal at the 69 minute mark.  Murray cleaned up around the goal after Jessica Jude's shot came off the goalie. Jude was credited with an assist.

Kennedy Werner had a clean sheet when she came out of goal late in the game. Erin Bentley made sure the shutout stayed intact.  Werner had six saves and Bentley had two.

LCC outshot the Blazers 22-7.

Baylee Wright was again solid for the Devils as she logged all 90 minutes of the match.  Chloe Brimhall also played 90 minutes.

With a second straight win, the Red Devils are now 4th in the West at 4-3-0.  Overall LCC is now 6-4-0.

Lower Columbia has a Sunday night special when they travel to the Wilson Playfields in Kent for a 6pm match with the Green River Gators.
