Lower Columbia College Red Devils

Shelby Vermeulen is a 6’0" Midfielder from La Center High School in La Center, WA where she was a three sport athlete. In 2013, 2014 & 2015 She earned GSHL First Team All League Goalkeeper and the 2012 Defensive player of the year.  Shelby was team captain in her Freshman and Senior year.  Vermeulen was also awarded 2015 All-League Basketball honors. In 2014 she took 4th at state in Discus and in 2015 she placed 6th in state for Discus. Shelby is also a member if the National Honor Society.

After playing for LCC in the 2016 season Shelby decided she need to serve her country and join the National Guard. She spent the next year completing basic training and her advanced individual training to work toward becoming a medic.

During the 2016 season Shelby was a standout goal keeper with 139 saves and 3 shutouts. She also put a goal of her own and an assist.
She currently leads the Devils with 8 goals so far this season and a .667 shot percentage.
