Successful Soccer Sophomore Day!

14 Lower Columbia College sophomore soccer players were honored in the final regular season home game at Northlake Field.  It was a good day all around as the Devils defeated Grays Harbor 4-0 on Saturday October 20th.

The large group of sophomores took center stage on a day the Devils collected three big points to tie Tacoma for third place. Both the devils and Titans have 22 points and are tied for the third and final playoff berth.

Devil star defensive player Chloe Brimhall got to see some forward time and she banged home a header for her first collegiate goal.  The goal came on a Sierra Thornock corner kick and gave the Devils a 3-0 lead at the 64 minute mark.

LCC had a 2-0 halftime lead.  Thornock got on the board first with a goal at 4'.  Ashlynn Willis got the assist.

Willis then scored herself on a Kaylee Murray assist at 11:56.

Shelby Vermeulen scored her 15th goal of the season unassisted at 57'.

Kennedy Werner got the shutout.  Her day was spent directing traffic as the Devils outshot the Chokers 27-2.

LCC is now 9-6-2 overall and 7-4-1 in the West Region.

The Devils will travel to Lakewood for a match with Pierce on Wednesday October 24th.  The first kick is slated for 4 pm.
