The Lower Columbia College softball team finally got a weather break and they took advantage of it.

The Red Devils traveled to Aberdeen on Wednesday May 2
nd and came away with two wins over Grays Harbor by identical 9-1 scores.

Under much deserved sunny skies, the Devils got a big game from
Sam Boyce in the first game. Boyce was 2 for 4 with a home run, double and two RBI's.

Arielle Burnett had two RBI's including a perfect suicide squeeze bunt.Â
Aurora Gouley had two hits and scored two runs.Â
Christine Robbins went a productive 0-3 as she drove in a pair of runs.

It all backed the complete game pitching of
Jessica Gibson who scattered six hits in seven innings. Gibby gave up just one unearned run and struck out three Chokers.

After the intermission, the Devils came out swinging in game two, scoring three runs in the first frame.

Boyce had another good game, going 2 for 4 with two RBI's.

Shanay Dotson was 2 for 3 with two RBI's, including a ringing RBI double.

Myranda Krull went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Gouley had two RBI's and scored two runs.

Robbins got the victory going five inning. She gave up five hits and just one run.
Taylor Brooks closed it out with a perfect sixth inning.

The Devils go to 11-9 in the tough South Region, 13-11 overall. The latest RPI ranking had LCC at #11.

It's a quick turnaround for the Devils as they travel to Centralia to play the Blazers Thursday May 4
th. The twinbill has been postponed four times and was originally scheduled for April 12
th. The first game at Fort Borst Park is at 3 pm.
