Turnabout is fair play.
After the Red Devil softball team pounded Mt. Hood 11-1 in the first game of a double header on Saturday March 25th, the Saints came back and won the second game also 11-1.
It was a pair of wild blowouts with each team enjoying an easy win and both suffering a lopsided loss.
The Devils jumped on Mt. Hood for three runs in the first inning of the opener in Gresham.Â
Sam Boyce and
Hannah Rothwell each had RBI singles and
Jessica Gibson provided a sacrifice fly RBI.
Christina Robbins hit a ringing two-run double in the second and the Devils had a 6-0 lead.
Myranda Krull hit a grand slam homer in the 6th and then
Mariah Mendez's RBI single gave LCC the mercy rule win.
Gibson got the win with five solid innings of work in the circle.
Game two was a complete flip-flop. Mt. Hood sent 11 batters to the plate in the first off the starter Rothwell and had a 5-0 lead.
Aurora Gouley tried to spark a rally with an RBI single in the third, but that was all the offense they could muster.
Hood hit a three-run homer off Rothwell and they won it in five frames.
The Devils even up the South league mark at 2-2, 4-4 overall. LCC will head to Coos Bay for a double header against Southwestern Oregon On Wednesday March 29th.
The home opener is Saturday April 1st as the Devils take on Grays Harbor in a 12 pm DH at Tam O'Shanter Park.
