Back on Sunday March 6th, the Bellevue Bulldogs used a walk-off three run homer to beat Lower Columbia 18-16.
It was deja vu all over again on Thursday March 31st.
Krystina Fischer pitched a brilliant game in the nightcap of a double header at Robinswood Park, only to see Bellevue turn her shutout into another sudden loss. The Bulldogs broke up the shutout with a 7th inning run, then hit the walk-off three run shot for a 4-3 victory.
Bellevue won the first game 8-7 as a Red Devil rally from down 5-0 fell just short.
In the opener, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three frames. The Devils came back with a
Sam Boyce two-run tomahawk homer to center field.
Bellevue extended the lead to 8-2 on a three-run homer off
Bailey Ellis. LCC got back into it with a five run sixth inning.
Jessica Gibson and
Bailey Hockett had RBI singles followed by a
Mariah Mendez three-run homer.
Fischer came on in the 6th and 7th and blanked Bellevue, but the Bulldogs held on for the 8-7 win.
Fischer was the star in the second game as she pitched a great game through six innings before the Bellevue uprising.
The Devils scroed first on a Ashley kelly RBI single after a
Nicole Bolasky triple. The Devils added two unearned runs in the sixth after
Madison Barr's double and a Bellevue error. Â
Fischer got out of trouble in the sixth after the first two Bellevue hitters reached. She got a strikeout and two pop outs to take the shutout to the 7th.
Bellevue then got another walk-off dramatic.
LCC has another non-division double header this Saturday when they host the Highline Thunderbirds on Saturday April 2nd. First pitch at Heerensperger Field at Tam O'Shanter Park in Kelso is 12 pm.
