Rained out at home, the Lower Columbia softball team made the trip to McMinnville for a non-leaguer doubleheader against the Linfield Wildcat JV's on Thursday March 24th.
The 'Cats won the first game 7-3, but the Devils came back to take the nightcap 8-6.
Linfield and LCC both had scoring chances in game one, but it was the Wildcats that were able to capitalize.
Ashley Kelly had two extra-base hits for the Lower Columbia. She singled in the first inning, tripled in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh inning.
Hannah Rothwell allowed seven runs in six innings, walked four and struck out three.
Four first-inning runs helped the Devils to an 8-6 win in game two.
The Lower Columbia scored in the first on an RBI single by Rothwell, a two-run double by
Jessica Gibson and an RBI single by Madi Barr.
It was a good day at the plate for the Lower Columbia's
Nicole Bolasky. Bolasky went 3-5 and scored three runs. She singled in the first, second, and third innings.
Krystina Fischer recorded her sixth win for the Lower Columbia even though she allowed five runs over six innings. She struck out five, walked three and surrendered eight hits.
