The Red Devils will forget about a forgetable day on the last regular season doubleheader. The team is heading to the NWAC's as the #8 seed.
On Saturday May 8th, not much went the way of the D's. Clackamas took care of business on its home field, defeating LCC by twin scores of 10-2, each shortened to five innings.
In the first game, Ashley Kelly and Chelsey Miller each had a hit and an RBI. They were the only hits in the game for LCC. Bailey Ellis took the loss in the circle.
In the second game, the Devils jumped up 2-0 in the first inning. But that was it offensively as the team also had just two hits, one by Kelly and the other by Nicole Bolasky. Julia Breidt took the loss
The Devils are excited to be back in the NWAC tourney after a year away. Following the seeding process, LCC was placed as the #8 team. The Devils will open up with #9 seed Columbia Basin at 12 pm Friday at Delta Park in Portland. If LCC wins, they would play the Grays Harbor-Spokane winner at 4 pm Friday. If they lose in the opener, LCC would play at 4 pm against the Grays Harbor-Spokane loser.
The tournament runs Friday through Monday.
