The LCC softball team collected 34 hits in a double header sweep of the Clark Penguins on Wednesday April 29th.
The hit total didn't include several screamers that were right at Clark, or great catches by the Penguins.
The offense backed the pitching of Krystina Fischer, who collected both wins in the circle.
Fischer tossed a two-hitter in the Devils 11-1 victory in the first game. Bailey Ellis mopped up with a perfect 7th inning.
The Devils exploded for seven insurance runs in the top of the 7th. Ashley Kelly was 3 for 5 with a double and triple. Maggie Harshaw also had 3 hits with a double. Sierra Richards had 3 hits with two RBI. Delaney Kelley also added 2 hits including a triple.
Fischer entered the circle in the second game and scattered nine hits with seven strikeouts in a 7-5 victory.
Chelsey Miller went 3 for 5 including a double. Harshaw, playing in front of her former Columbia River teammates, stayed hot with two more hits including a triple. Richards had a double and 2 RBI's. Lexie Rodriguez, Nicole Bolasky, D. Kelley and A. Kelly each had two hits.
With the sweep, the Devils have a four game lead in the race for an NWAC tourney berth with six games to play. The Devils will take on Mt. Hood in Gresham Saturday at 12 pm.
