Phenomenal Win At Clark As Drey's Lay Up Wins It

LCC men's basketball coach Jim Roffler couldn't say enough about the job his team did in an 80-78 road win at Clark on Saturday February 7th.

Roffler told The Daily News it was a "phenomenal" win.

Vancouver native Taylor Drey hit a driving lay-up with 1.3 seconds left to win it for LCC over the talented Penguins.

Clark was having it's way over LCC in the first half as Evan Garrison's hot shooting and showboating had the Devils down 51-39 at the half.  But the second half was a different story as the Devils put the clamps on Garrison and the team rallied for a great win.

Ryan Lee continued his stellar play with 24 points and seven rebounds.  Drey, a Mountain View HS product had 22 points and the game winner back in his old stomping grounds.

Battle Ground product Jamie Ford also turned it up in the second half, scoring all 14 points in the period.  Jeremy Burright had 10 points and Michael Dupree had eight points and nine assists, including the pass that set up Drey's game winner.

By sweeping the Penguins in the regular season, the Devils go to 8-3 in league and 16-8 overall.  LCC is just one game behind Highline in the race for the league title.

The Devils will host Green River on Wednesday with an 8 pm tip-off at Myklebust Gym. The game will be streamed live in HD on: tofervision.com/lcc.
