The Red Devils were without Mr. 500. Four days after collecting career win #500, LCC head coach Jim Roffler was too sick to make the trip to Midway for the big showdown at Highline on Wednesday February 4th.
Assistant Sullivan Carter took the reins and almost saw the Devils pull off a great comeback. Down 15 at halftime, the Devils took the lead late in the game, but Highline hit a big three with 18 seconds left to come away with an 84-81 victory.
Coach Carter rode the hot hand of freshman forward Ryan Lee, who had a career high 31 points. Michael Dupree added 16 points. Jamie Ford and Taylor Drey had 13 each.

The Devils were down 49-34 at halftime, but made a furious rally in the second half to make it a great game down the stretch.

The Devils hope coach Roffler is feeling better in time for Saturday's big game at Clark (14-6,7-2). With the loss, the Devils drop to 7-3 in West Region play, 15-8 overall.
