Devils Take 2 of 3 in Eugene, Ranked #7

After a tough loss to Spokane Friday, the LCC men's basketball team righted the ship and won back-to-back games at the Dale Bates Invitational tournament in Eugene December 12-14.

The Devils showed up at #7 in the initial NWAC poll released by the conference office.  Spokane was put at #1.

In a rematch of the Devils semi-final win over Spokane in the Red Devil Classic, Bigfoot got the better of LCC 97-87. Race Martin led Spokane with 30 points.

Michael Dupree had 24 points and six assists to lead LCC.  Ryan Lee added 21 points, Jeremy Burright had 18 points and seven rebounds and Jamie Ford had 13.

Saturday against Southwestern Oregon,  Lee and Dupree each had 18 to lead the Devils to a 72-69 victory.  Lee added nine rebounds and Dupree also had five boards and six assists. Jamie Ford added 17.

In the consolation final on Sunday, the Devils played solid defense in an 82-67 win over Umpqua.  Jamie Ford and Dupree led the scoring with 17 each.  Lee had 14 points and seven rebounds. Jared Roffler had a college career-high 11 points, including two three-pointers.  Taylor Drey had 10 points and five rebounds.

The Devils are 6-3 on the season and get ready for the NWAC Cross Over Friday afternoon at the South Puget Sound Gym in Olympia. The Devils open the tourney with a game against Lane at 12 pm.  LCC earlier beat the Titans in the season opener.
