Two lackluster games were sandwiched around a red-hot performance at the NWAC Cross Over event at South Puget Sound College on December 19-21.
The Devils opened the tourney with a 72-66 loss to Lane, a team the Devils handled back in the season opener. The Titans jumped out to a 10 point halftime lead and the LCC rally fell short.
Michael Dupree led LCC with 22 points. Jamie Ford had 17 points and six rebounds. Ryan Lee scored 16 with eight rebounds. Jeremy Burright had nine points and nine boards.
On Saturday, the Devils exploded offfensively against Yakima Valley, a 109-65 victory. Jamie Ford was red hot, hitting all seven of his three points shots on the way to 23 points. Burright was also accurate from deep, hitting 4 of 6 three-pointers. Burright ended up with 20 points and seven rebounds. As a team, the Devils were 14 for 21 from long distance. Lee had 14 points with eight caroms, Taylor Drey had 11 points and seven rebounds and Kyle Bobo had six assists.
The Red Devils couldn't keep the momentum going on Sunday as Walla Walla came up with an 86-73 win over LCC. Dupree had 20 points and Jamie Ford added 12. Throstur Kristansson had three points and seven rebounds.
The Devils take a Christmas break and will return to action Sunday December 28th against the LCC Alumni team. The game will be following the LCC Holiday Classic women's action that evening. The men's Alumni game slated for 7:30 pm.
