Five innings, no base baserunners allowed, 12 strikeouts and 44 strikes of 59 total pitches. That effort by Lower Columbia's
Ava Eib added up to a perfect game as the Red Devils completed a sweep over Umpqua with a 10-0 game two win at home on Tuesday.
Â
The sophomore righthander upped her season total to 185 Ks, which leads the NWAC. Her ERA is now 1.36, second in the NWAC trailing teammate
Zoey Hughes who sits at 0.99
Â
While Eib, Hughes and
Cerenity Fake owned the home field circle in the DH,
Alisyn Parkin swung a big bat by belting two three-run home runs on the day, one in each game of the twinbill. Parkin now has eight home runs and 47 RBI, tied for sixth in the NWAC. Teammate
Gabi Silveria has 54 RBI, third best in the conference.
Â
The Red Devils, winners of 30 straight games, are 35-2 overall and 20-0 and lead the NWAC South Region. Next up is a home doubleheader on Friday, April 24 vs Clark. First pitch at Heerensperger Field in Kelso is at 3:00 PM.

TUESDAY RECAP
Game one: Lower Columbia 13, Umpqua 1 (5 innings) – Parkin, Silveria and
Elysa Nash all drove in three runs to pace the offense, providing Hughes and Fake plenty of run support.
Â
Hughes pitched the first four innings, allowing just two hits as she extended her record to 16-0. Fake closed the out the win, inducing a game-ending 6-4-3 double play –
Kennedy Selander to Silveria to
Shaz Ancheta – to end it.
Â
Parkin's three-run shot in the second inning was the big blast, Nash was 3-4 with three ringing doubles. Silveria had three hits including a double and
Dani Ambriz was 3-3 with a double and two RBI.
Â
Game two: Lower Columbia 10, Umpqua 0 (5 innings) – Some of the credit for Eib's perfecto must go to Ambriz, who made a running shoestring catch in shallow right field for the first out of the game. After that it was all Eib, who struck out the side in the second, third and fifth innings.
Â
Parkin's second three-run HR of the game got the offense rolling in the first inning. The freshman from Montesano was 3-3 and also scored three runs.
Â
Jaime Haase also had a hit and drove in three runs.
Avery Garvey doubled and plated two runners and Nash doubled, her fourth of the DH.
Kendall Humphrey chipped in a pair of singles.
