The Lower Columbia Red Devils secured a strong road victory over the Centralia Trailblazers, closing out the contest with a 78-62 win.
The Red Devils demonstrated a balanced attack, led by Reigha Niemeyer, who posted a game-high 22 points on 6-of-19 shooting, including three three-pointers and a 7-of-10 performance from the free-throw line. Niemeyer also contributed five rebounds and two steals in her 32 minutes of play.
Karlee VonMoos played a pivotal role in the victory, recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while adding three steals and two assists.
Lisa Lorenz Conrotto made her presence felt across the board, finishing with 14 points, six steals, and seven assists, proving to be a key playmaker for the Red Devils.
Morgan Hamilton also contributed on both ends, collecting five steals and dishing out four assists while adding four points and five rebounds.
As a team, Lower Columbia capitalized on Centralia's mistakes, forcing 28 turnovers and converting them into 31 points. Their defensive pressure resulted in 18 steals, allowing them to control the tempo and push their lead to as much as 18 points in the fourth quarter. The Red Devils shot 33.8% from the field, making 27 of their 80 attempts, and held a slight edge in free-throw shooting at 76% compared to Centralia's 66.7%.
For the Trailblazers, Abi Lundblad was the standout performer, leading her team with 19 points and 13 rebounds. She shot an efficient 8-of-16 from the field while adding one assist. Ella Baumgartner also contributed 20 points, shooting 8-of-15, while adding two blocks and one steal. However, despite their solid individual performances, Centralia struggled with ball security, and their 28 turnovers ultimately proved too costly against a relentless Lower Columbia defense.
Lower Columbia's ability to generate turnovers and capitalize on fast-break opportunities allowed them to control the game, and they finished strong with a 25-point fourth quarter to seal the win. With this victory, the Red Devils improved their record to 6-1, continuing their strong campaign in the NWAC.
Devils are back on the home court this Saturday (2/8/25) vs the Green River Gators at 5:00 pm.Â
