Red Devils Roll Past Centralia, VonMoos Sets Rebounding Record

(Longview, WA) The Lower Columbia Red Devils took control early and never looked back as they secured a dominant 70-53 victory over the Centralia Trailblazers at Myklebust Gym. The win was powered by a balanced offensive effort and a historic milestone from forward Karlee VonMoos, who became Lower Columbia's all-time rebounding leader with her 477th career board.

VonMoos delivered an all-around performance, leading the Devils with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and five steals, asserting her dominance in the paint and etching her name in program history. Her seven rebounds in the fourth quarter alone pushed her past the previous record, solidifying her legacy as one of LCC's greatest on the glass.

Dylan Mann provided a strong inside presence, contributing 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Reigha Niemeyer added 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers to keep the Devils' offense clicking. Lauren Katyryniuk was efficient from beyond the arc, hitting three triples on her way to an 11-point night.

Lower Columbia set the tone early, jumping out to a 19-6 first-quarter lead with relentless defense and quick ball movement. The Devils forced 26 Centralia turnovers and racked up 16 steals, turning their defensive pressure into easy transition buckets. Their defensive intensity held the Trailblazers to just 35.7% shooting from the field.

While Centralia made a brief push in the third quarter, cutting into LCC's lead, the Red Devils responded with a strong close to the period, maintaining a comfortable advantage heading into the final stretch. The bench provided a significant boost, contributing 22 points to keep the momentum in favor of the home team.

With this victory, Lower Columbia improves to 7-8 on the season and 1-0 in NWAC play, setting the tone for conference competition.

The Red Devils will look to build on this momentum in their next matchup at Green River on Saturday, Jan. 11. Game is set to tip off at 2:00 pm in Auburn, WA.
