(Longview, WA) – The Bellevue Bulldogs have put a tall and talented team together for 2024. In front of a good crowd at Myklebust Gym, the Bulldogs defeated the Devils 3-0.
The set scores were 25-13, 25-23 and 25-16.
Bellevue came out and knocked the Devils on their heels with a resounding opening set victory. LCC bounced back in the second set, only to see Bellevue score the final four points to rally for a 25-23 win. Bellevue then took care of business in the third set.
Kenny Collins of LCC had a solid performance. The sophomore from Kalama led LCC with 14 kills and eight digs.
Samantha Farland had seven kills. "The first set was rough but I think we picked it up in the second set and stuck with them", said Farland. "They are a really good, tall team and they go fast. We have just four returners and so we're still playing together to learn what we have to do as a team. We're proud. We are holding our heads high because we stuck with it."
Madi Noel had nine digs for the Devils.
Allison Orantes had 10 assists.
There were plenty of fans from Kelso to see LCC's
Reegan Perkins and
Kassie Carter and fellow former Hilander Olivia Chilton of Bellevue. Chilton had five kills for the Bulldogs.
The Devils (2-4) are at Clark on Friday September 6
th for a 6 pm match. LCC then goes to Shoreline for a 7 pm match on Saturday September 7
th.
