(Longview, WA) Red Devils soccer makes it 5 consecutive wins and 5 consecutive shutouts with a 5-0 defeat of Pierce on Wednesday, September 18, at Northlake field.
Freshman
Kari Pate, bent it like Beckham, to get the Devils on the board first. It was at the 10:29 mark and Kari lined up for a corner kick giving the perfect curve on the kick to send it over the Pierce goalie and into the back corner.
20 minutes later the Devils took advantage of a Pierce foul just outside the box.
Angelina Hopwood powered a shot past the Raiders wall and the outstretched arms of their goalie to make 2-0 LCC. Tha score would hold until the half.
Avery Kimball kept it going for Lower Columbia in the second half at the 66 minute mark with an unassisted power shot.
Zoie Clay put the Devils up four in the 75 minute off a beauty of a pass from
Baylee Beck. Then Clay surved up a beauty of a pass of her own to
Maddie Kohout for the final goal of the match in the 80th minute.
Lower Columbia out shot Pierce 31-4. They also dominated the corner kicks with 9 to Pierce's 2.
Jade Goulding had 1 save as she tallied her fourth shutout of the season in goal. The Raiders goalie, Piper Betty, was busy all match and racked up 12 saves.
