Kari Pate scored three goals to lead the Lower Columbia soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Everett at the NWAC Friendlies in Tukwila on Wednesday August 21
st.
Pate, the freshman from Herriman HS in Utah, opened the scoring with an unassisted goal seven minutes into the match. The Red Devils then cruised the rest of the way.
Rhyli Grim got on the board with a goal at 19' on an
Angelina Hopwood assist. Two minutes later Hopwood scored herself (unassisted).
Up 3-0 at the half, Pate began her quest for the hat trick. She hit the crease with an unassisted goal at 60', then got the hatty with a goal at 85' on an
Ava Gibbs assist.
Jade Goulding has been in goal for the entire season as
Emma Beavin is still mending from a ankle injury. In four scrimmages and two regular season matches, Goulding has given up just one goal.
Against Everett she had to make just three saves as the Red Devil back line has been stellar.
With two wins at Starfire, the Devils now take some time off before league play. LCC travels to Clark for the league opener on Wednesday September 4
th.
