Devils Win 2 of 3 at Pasco Crossover

(Pasco, WA) – The Lower Columbia women's basketball team sandwiched a pair of victories around a loss at the NWAC Cross Over tournament hosted by Columbia Basin College.
 
The Devils opened the three-day event with a 91-48 win over Portland.  Columbia Basin avenged a earlier loss to LCC by upending the Devils 53-46. LCC then defeated Everett 60-42.

The Devils shot the ball well and led from the outset.  Lower Columbia was 49.2% from the floor and had four players score in double figures.
 
Karlee VonMoos had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the way.  Dylan Mann was 7 for 11 from the floor for 15 points.
 
Lisa Lorenz-Conrotto 11 points and a co-team-high six assists.  Morgan Hamilton had 10 points and seven rebounds.
 
Reigha Niemeyer also dished out six assists to go with her nine points and five boards.
 
COLUMBIA BASIN 53 LOWER COLUMBIA 46
 
In a back and forth affair, the Hawks outscored the Devils 15-10 in the first quarter and was able to keep the Devils from making any considerable run.
 
The Devils inability to cash in on free throws was a big factor.  LCC was just 7-19 at the line (36.8%).
 
Lorenz-Conrotto had nine points and four assists.  Mann had eight points and six caroms.  Hamilton also scored eight points before fouling out.
 
VonMoos had another strong rebounding game with 11 boards to go with her six points.  Michaela Medico had six rebounds.  Niemeyer was held to seven points before fouling out.
 
LOWER COLUMBIA 60 EVERETT 42
 
LCC continued to struggle with shooting (24.6%) and free throw shooting (35.7%), but were able to overcome for the victory.  The Devils outrebounded Everett 50-38 and LCC also forced 19 turnovers.
 
VonMoos had another double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Lorenz-Conrotto scored 15 points.
 
Medico worked the glass for 10 rebounds to complement three points.  Brooke Ravet had a solid game with five points and eight rebounds.
 

LCC (5-5) hits the road for a non-divisional game at Clackamas on Thursday December 19th.  Game time in Oregon City is set for 5 pm.
