(Longview, WA)  Lower Columbia secured a decisive 69-91 victory over the Linn-Benton Roadrunners on November 26, 2024, at Myklebust Gym. The Red Devils, now 4-0, displayed a cohesive team performance against the Roadrunners, who dropped to 2-3.
It was a team effort for the Red Devils, who had 6 of 9 players score in double digits. Malik Brown tallied 13 points while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out four assists, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court. Keshawn Lewis added a crucial 14 points, including a three-pointer, and four rebounds. David Young was a sharpshooter from deep, contributing 15 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Javares Reid finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and two assists, proving essential in the paint.
Kap Laila notched 11 points and dominated the boards with 10 rebounds, achieving a double-double and adding three assists. Camryn Berry scored 10 points, showing efficiency with five baskets in just seven attempts. Amir Locus added eight points and five rebounds, providing a solid presence in the rotation. James Grose chipped in six points alongside five rebounds, while Hayden Yore contributed two points and three rebounds to round out the scoring for the Red Devils.
Lower Columbia excelled in efficiency, shooting 45.1% from the field, and dominated the glass with 50 total rebounds compared to Linn-Benton's 38. The Red Devils' defense was tenacious, forcing 14 turnovers and recording 11 steals. Despite a strong 21-point, nine-rebound effort by Linn-Benton's Cade Smith, the Roadrunners struggled from three-point range, shooting just 11.5%, which ultimately limited their ability to keep up.
The Red Devils, who had their largest lead at 29 points late in the second half, are now looking to build on their unbeaten start to the season as they prepare for the upcoming Red Devil Classic.
