(Longview, WA) -- The Lower Columbia men's basketball team has won nine straight games after defeating the Highline Thunderbirds 77-67 on Saturday, January 27 at Myklebust Gym.
Lower Columbia gained the lead three minutes into the game and never gave it up. In fact, the Devils kept a double digit lead on the T-Birds from the 10 minute mark of the first half until the final whistle.
The Devils finished the night shooting 44.8% from the floor, 37.5% from the 3 point arc, and 88.9% from the free throw line.
Highlights of the game came in the second half.
David Young got a steal and dished it up to a running
Malik Brown who threw down a dunk with authority. Three minutes later,
Jonah Zeller took a pass from
Keshawn Lewis and smacked a two handed jam over a Highline player.
Young lead the Devils with 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Brown finished the night with 13 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Carter McCoy provided 11 points and pulled down five boards.
Kobe Parlin added nine points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Amari Jackson was the top scorer for the Thunderbirds with 20 points.
The win puts the Devils at 6-0 in the West Region and 18-2 overall.
Next up for the LCC is a tough Green River (17-4, 5-1) team currently sitting at second in the West a game behind the Devils.
