Devils Remain Perfect In League Play

(Longview, WA)  Lower Columbia and Pierce is always a great match up, and Saturday's game at Myklebust was no different, as the Red Devils came out on top 82-61.

LCC came out strong shooting 64% in the 1st period but Pierce kept it close with the largest lead of the period was the Devils up by 9, 25-16.

Lower Columbia got up by as much as +14 in the second period but the Raiders were resilient and cut that lead to only 6 at the half, 37-31 Devils.

In the third period the Red Devils pulled away going up by +19 at the end of the period, 63-44. This was due in large part thanks to some great free throw shooting. The Devils went 10-12 from the charity stripe while the Raiders struggled only hitting 4 of 10 FT chances.

The Devils continued to slowly and methodically put points on the board in the 4th, to get the 82-61 win.

Leading the Red Devils was freshman forward Karlee VonMoos, who put up 14 points and pulled down 7 boards.

Freshman Morgan Hamilton continued to be outstanding with 13 points, 3 rebound, 4 assists, and 6 steals.

Reigha Niemeyer had a great night with 12 points and 4 assists.

Bailee Larson added 12 points.

Leslie Luna was the top scorer for the Raiders with 20 points on the nights.

The win puts the Devils in a three-way tie for first in the west, at 3-0, with Centraila and Green River.

Next up for the Red Devils is a road game at Centraila on Wednesday, January 24. Tip is set for 5:00 pm
