(Bellevue, WA) – The Lower Columbia College volleyball team made its final tune-up for league play by splitting four matches at the Bellevue Cross Over tournament Friday and Saturday September 15 and 16.
Kate Johnson had 27 kills over the four matches and
Paige Chinchen continued her all around play with 41 digs over the weekend.
The Devils opened up with a 3-0 sweep over Chemeketa.
Johnson had seven kills. Chinchen had five kills and a match-high 17 digs.
Kate Onespot-Danforth supplied 14 assists and three aces.
Everett completed a 3-0 sweep, but the Trojans had just an eight point advantage in the three sets.
Chinchen had nine kills, 12 digs and three aces. Johnson smashed six kills. Onespot-Danforth had a double-double with 22 assists and 11 digs.
Madi Noel also had 15 digs.
On Saturday, North Idaho was in control from the outset in a 3-0 sweep of LCC. Onespot-Danforth had six kills, 10 assists and seven digs.
Alex Tinsley had 11 assists and six digs. Noel finished with 15 digs.
The Devils closed out the event on a high note with a 3-0 sweep over Southwestern Oregon. Johnson was the star with eight kills and a sizzling.571 kill percentage.
Chinchen had seven kills and eight digs. Onespot-Danforth collected 16 assists. Tinsley supplied 12 assists. Noel had 16 digs.
The Devils are 11-6 as they begin league play with a big home match against the Pierce Raiders on Wednesday September 20
th. The first serve is at 6 pm.
The Associated Students of LCC will be hosting a pizza Party at the game. Admission for students and staff is free, but they ask you bring your student ID for the pizza and other swag.
