(Gresham, OR) – The Mt. Hood Saints snapped the Lower Columbia College seven game win streak, then rallied to take a wild extra inning game on Saturday April 29
th.
The Saints won both end of the double header 7-1 and 12-11 in 9 innings.
Mt. Hood 7 Lower Columbia 1
The Saints started strong scoring five runs in the first two innings. Down 5-0 early, the Red Devils could never muster an offensive comeback as Mt. Hood starter Kylie Parsons allowed just three hits.
Raychel Squibb's third inning sacrifice fly led to the only LCC run.
Leanna Russell had the only extra base hit for LCC, a double.
Sunny Bennion and
Kennedy Williams each had a single.

Alli Heater settled down after the first two innings. Heater gave up five earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts.
Sadie Knutson pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
Mt. Hood 12 Lower Columbia 11 (9 innings)
Lower Columbia had an 11-7 lead with three outs to go in the 7
th, but the Saints scored four in the bottom of the frame to force extra innings. Mt. Hood walked it off with a run in the bottom of the ninth.
The Devils offense was led by
Destiny Dunlap who hit two homers and drove in three runs.
Teeghan Reams hit her 15
th homer of the season and Squibb also went deep. Reams and
Sawyer Stenson both went 2 for 5 with three RBI's.
Knutson started and went 2 2/3 innings allowing five runs on seven hits.
Darby DeRuyter went four innings allowing six runs (5 earned). She allowed nine hits. Heater closed strong but was in the circle when the Saints scored the game winner. Heater took the loss despite allowing just one run in 2 2/3 innings of work.
The Devils are 21-15 on the season and 14-8 in the South Region standings. The Devils travel to Centralia for a 3 pm DH on Tuesday May 2
